Frankenstein outdoor theatre - Fyne Court
A performance of the classic story at the place whose owner is said to have inspired the original novel.
When explorer Captain Robert Walton rescues Victoria Frankenstein from an ice floe in the Arctic Ocean, he hears the shocking events that have brought her there. As a woman with a passion for science in an age that forbids her to pursue it, she is forced to adopt the male persona of Victor to attend university. The ruse is soon discovered leading to her expulsion, but not before she has befriended a tutor whose interest in unorthodox scientific methods has set her on a dark path from which there will be no return.
The team behind recent acclaimed open air tours of The Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde, The Hound Of The Baskervilles and Dracula bring Mary Shelley’s gothic horror classic to life, telling the stories of Victoria and the creature she gives life to in a brand new adaptation that will both thrill modern audiences and delight fans of the novel.
An outdoor performance of the classic tale in the perfect location- the site which is said to have inspired Mary Shelley. Enjoy the performance with a wonderful cream tea from the café - you can book in advance in the ticket section. This includes a fruit/plain/gluten-free scone, a pot of jam, a pot of clotted cream and a hot drink of your choice.
Please note:
- Meet at Fyne Court Courtyard.
- Wear weather appropriate clothing.
- Accessible toilets, parking, no steps to lawn but cobblestones in the courtyard.
- Children are welcome.
