Winter Apple Tree Pruning Workshop
Join a practical course to learn how to use different pruning techniques to manage fruit crops and control tree growth. Learn the fundamentals of winter apple tree pruning.
This practical winter pruning workshop day will include theory, an easy-to-follow tutorial accompanied by practical demonstrations. Led by Mole Cole from Belbury Plantcare who has years of experience working in orchards and gardens. The course will take place in the Old Bakery Orchard, in the heart of Branscombe village. Warming hot drinks are provided throughout the day. Bring a packed lunch and wear warm, weather appropriate clothing and sturdy, waterproof footwear. Tools will be provided. Please bring a pair of gardening gloves.
Please note:
- Please meet at the National Trust ranger's yard, next door to the Branscombe Forge. EX12 3DB.
- Please bring a packed lunch and wear warm, weather appropriate clothing and sturdy, waterproof footwear. Tools will be provided. Bring a pair of gardening gloves.
- The orchard is largely level, however there are areas of long grass and some uneven ground underfoot. After wet weather muddy areas in the orchard can become slippery.
- Not suitable for children.
- In the event of extreme weather, the workshop will be postponed.
