Evening echoes: bird and bat safari on Brownsea Island
Discover Brownsea Island's nocturnal wildlife on these special nature evenings. Look and listen out for bats and and the strange call of the nightjar.
As dusk falls over Brownsea Island head out for an unforgettable evening of discovery. Guided by one of the island’s expert Rangers and volunteers, this nocturnal safari offers a rare glimpse into the island’s after-dark wildlife.
As the sun sets, the lagoon comes alive with the sights and sounds of nesting birds. Watch terns dive for fish and wading birds settle in for the night.
We will use bat detectors to tune into the secret world of bats, tracking their movements and watching their aerial acrobatics.
You’ll also encounter a fascinating array of moths and other nocturnal insects that are active in the twilight hours.
Tickets include return boat travel, island entry, and a guided walk. Spaces are limited so book now to secure your place on this evening adventure.
