Help Out Day: Coppicing at Elterwater
Help our rangers with coppicing at Rob Rash in Elterwater.
Have a go at this ancient woodland management technique. We'll be working in a patch of woodland on the opposite side of the lake, we will walk there from the NT Elterwater car park.
We will provide work gloves and tools and people will be able to take wood away.
Please note:
- Meet at NT Elterwater car park at 9.45pm. Postcode is LA22 9HU and the What 3 Words is ///tacky.pebble.adopt https://maps.app.goo.gl/KK8RTNCN5p5dXSAd7
- Please arrive ontime.
- Bring waterproof shoes, boots or wellies, waterproof jacket and sun protection if it's sunny. Work/gardening gloves, if you have some. Bring a pack lunch, snacks and drinks.
- There is uneven ground in a woodland area. We will walk from the car park to the woodland (approx. 20 minute walk).
- Not suitable for children.
- If you are an NT member, scan your card at the car park. We will have a day car parking pass for non members, ask a ranger on arrival. The bus stop is right next to the Elterwater car park and the bus arrives at 9.45am. Nearest toilets at Elterwater village or Skelwith Bridge (Chesters cafe).
