A solo performance about Jane Austen's 12-hour engagement. It's December 1802, Jane is twenty-six and back in Hampshire visiting her friends Catherine and Alethea, members of the wealthy Wither family on the Manydown estate. Estate owner Harris Bigg-Wither has just proposed. It was a big decision to say, "Yes,". It is an even a bigger decision to refuse the offer after twelve hours. Written by Phil Howe. Tickets now on sale: All tickets £20. Booking essential. Tickets are non-refundable. Please note non-members entering The Vyne before 3pm on the day of the performance will need to pay normal admission.

Please note:
- Standard admission charges apply to non-members if arriving before 3pm.
- Enter The Vyne via Visitor Reception showing your e-ticket.
- You'll need comfortable clothing and flat shoes.
- This event takes place in the Stone Gallery on the ground floor of the house. There is ramp wheelchair access via the South Drive entrance. There is a 10-minute walk between the carpark and the house entrance.
- Not suitable for young families.
