International Women’s Day Writing Workshop

Channel your creativity in our writing workshop, inspired by the influential women of Hardwick Hall.

From Bess’ designs to build a status symbol to reflect her power and influence, to Duchess Evelyn’s determined DIY attitude as she restored and protected the hall for future generations - Hardwick has intelligent and creative women at its core. So, we'd like to invite you to join us to explore your own creativity in a writing workshop to celebrate and be inspired by some amazing artistic women.  

Suitable for all abilities, all we ask is that you come with a pen, paper and your imagination! 

For non-members of the National Trust, or visitors without a general admission ticket to the House and Gardens, the Wider Estate admission fees apply:

  • Adult: £6.00
  • Child: £3.00
  • Family (2 adults, 2 children): £15.00
  • Family (1 adult, 2 children): £9.00

Please note:

  • Standard admission charges (or the Wider Estate admission fee) apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Please meet at Visitor Reception located in the Stableyard, a member of the team will take you through to the hall. Please arrive 10 minutes before the workshop is due to start.
  • Please bring a pen and paper with you.
  • This workshop take place on the third floor of Hardwick, there are no lifts available. Participants will need to climb the stairs in the hall to take part in this workshop. A buggy service is available to and from the hall if required.
  • Suitable for ages 16 and up.
