Dear Future: I Leave This Place For You - 5 June - Wentworth Castle Gardens

Find out how a gift in your can help us protect and preserve the special places in our care.

Without gifts in wills, we simply wouldn’t be able to look after the extraordinary places in our care. This special event will take you behind the scenes to see first-hand how your support is helping us carry out crucial conservation work every day, and how a gift in your own will could help to safeguard the future of our special places.

Once known as 'the finest garden in England' and rooted in family rivalry, Wentworth Castle Gardens now provides space for relaxation, reflection and opportunities for people to enjoy nature and beauty. We will explore the garden, including a castle which is not what it seems, and go behind the scenes to give a glimpse of the vision the National Trust has for the future of this site we only started looking after in 2019. We will have light refreshments towards the end of the day, where you will hear from a local solicitor from the National Free Wills Network about the importance of an up to date will and we'll share information on how to access the National's Trusts free will service. You'll also have the opportunity to chat further with members of the team to learn about their work and why gifts in wills are so crucial.

Please note:

  • Please head to the welcome team who will give you directions to our venue for the day. A member of the team will be ready to greet you at the venue.
