Dear Future: I Leave This Place For You - 26 June - Lyme
Find out how a gift in your will can help us protect and preserve the special places in our care.
Without gifts in wills, we simply wouldn’t be able to look after the extraordinary places in our care. This special event will take you behind the scenes to see first-hand how your support is helping us carry out crucial conservation work every day, and how a gift in your own will could help to safeguard the future of our special places.
Nestled on the edge of the Peak District, Lyme was once home to the Legh family. The 1,400 acre estate, with its house, gardens, parkland and medieval herd of red deer, offers fantastic walks and stunning views. During this special visit we will go behind the scenes of the house and the surrounding landscape to highlight some of Lyme's 600 year history, which more recently includes being famously featured in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
Over refreshments you will hear from a local solicitor from the National Free Wills Network about the importance of an up to date will and we'll share information on how to access the National's Trusts free will service. You'll also have the opportunity to chat further with members of the team to learn about their work and why gifts in wills are so crucial.
Please note:
- Please convene at the refreshments kiosk by the main car park where a member of the team will be ready to greet you and direct you towards the registration area.
- Flat, comfortable shoes and a jacket are recommended for the walking tour. Part of the event will be outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather on the day.
- The property has accessible parking available, level-access toilets and accessible toilet in the Timber Yard. Step-free pathway leads up to the north front of the house from the car park. Please let us know when booking if you have accessibility requirements. If you would like to discuss your accessibility requirements, please call the Gifts in Wills Team on 01793 817699.
- For a digital guide on disabled access at Lyme, visit https://www.accessable.co.uk/national-trust/lyme-national-trust.
- Only suitable for adults.
- Food and drinks prepared in our kitchens are made using a wide range of ingredients. Whilst we do our very best, we can’t guarantee that any of our products are totally allergen free.
- If you require more information about ingredients or allergens for this event, please contact legacyevents@nationaltrust.org.uk or call the Gifts in Wills Team on 01793 817699.
