Illyria presents the Wind in the Willows - Lacock Abbey, Fox Talbot Museum and Village
Join us for Illyria's performance of a timeless tale, for another magical night of outdoor theatre for all the family.
Mole yearns to explore the wide world. Gruff old Badger enjoys peace and quiet. And Rat likes picnics and just messing about in boats. Their idyllic lives on the Riverbank are turned upside down when Toad, bewitched by the roar of an engine and the screech of burning tyres, pursues his latest in a long line of extravagant obsessions: a fast, red motor-car. Multiple award-winning Illyria celebrates Kenneth Grahame’s timeless tale of friendship, laughter, the longing for home and the lure of adventure.
Please note:
- Enter the Abbey grounds through visitor reception on Lacock High Street. The performance area is a 5-10 minute walk from the gate. Park in the National Trust car park on Hither Way.
- Please bring low-backed seating or rugs, warm clothes and a picnic. There is no shelter if wet. Sorry, no BBQs, gazebos or large garden parasols.
- Performance area accessible - level paths, lightly gravelled. Sorry, no induction loop or BSL interpretation. Phone for more details about blue badge parking.
- Children welcome.
- The gates open at 5.20pm, last entry is 6.15pm. It takes about 5 mins to walk down the drive so please leave plenty of time to get settled before the show. Finishing time is approximate. Performance continues in all but the very worst of weathers.
- Running time is approx. 1 hour 40 minutes and includes a 20 minute interval.
- Sorry, no discount for OAP, groups or National Trust members.
