Winter Kantha Embroidery Workshop

Escape the winter blues and embrace the mindfulness and calm of Kantha Embroidery with this full day workshop in the Old School House Village Hall.

To kick off our 2026 workshop programme, we are hosting a full day Kantha Embroidery workshop in the Old School House Village Hall. Taking inspiration from winter scenes and with guidance from our expert makers, you will produce your own piece of Kantha embroidery to take home with you.

Kantha is a slow, mindful activity which can have great benefits for mental health. It avoids textile waste by using up small scraps of fabric to make new items and can be used to repair worn or torn textiles. This form of embroidery adds to the aesthetic beauty of the textile and renews it, prolonging its life for further use and avoiding waste.

Don’t worry if you have never tried embroidery before, there will be help on hand to guide you through the process. All materials and equipment will be provided. We will supply plenty of examples for inspiration, but feel free to bring along your own designs and ideas!

There will be an hour’s break for lunch. Tea and coffee are provided.
(Please bring your own lunch. Access to the Stables café is permitted.)
