Dawn Chorus walk with our Rangers
Join our Ranger team on this early morning walk through the estate to enjoy the dawn chorus. Culminating in seeing the art installation Helios waking up with the sun before the estate opens to the public.
Join our Ranger team on a walk around the estate during the early hours of the morning to experience Ickworth’s dawn chorus.
The walk will take approximately two and a half hours and will finish at Porter’s Lodge for a tea or coffee and a pastry.
Ickworth is home to numerous species of bird, and under the expert guidance of Martin our Ranger, he will help you to identify different bird calls and share more about the conservation work we do to keep their habitats thriving.
Please note:
- Please meet outside the Welcome Point in the Main carpark where the team will meet you ready for the walk.
- Please wear weather appropriate clothing as this walk will take place outside. The session will last around two and a half hours.
- The pathways from the main carpark into the Albana are hardstanding flat pathways suitable for wheelchair users. However, further into the Albana the pathways become more uneven with some inclines and declines, which some manual wheelchair users may find challenging. This walk is suitable for those with a good level of fitness. There are blue badge spaces in the main carpark.
- This session is aimed at adults, but some children may find the walk enjoyable.
- Please bring any food and drink you might need, the walk will finish at Porter’s Lodge café for a hot drink and a pastry.
