Bird Walk at Knole

Join this guided walk around Knole and learn about the different birds that can live in the park and learn about their habits, alongside general information about the parkland.

Erik Brown is a retired journalist with an enthusiasm for birds and will lead you on this guided walk around the parkland. He leads the annual bird survey at Knole, helping us understand the species that use this designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). 

On this walk around the parkland, you'll hear from Erik about the birds you're likely to encounter at Knole and their habits, alongside general information about the park. Weather permitting, the walk will last approx. 45 minutes followed by refreshments and the chance to ask Erik questions.

In the event of poor weather, the talk will take place indoors as a presentation in the Hayloft Learning Centre.

Please note:

  • Please meet by the picnic corral ready to start the walk promptly at 8.30am.
  • Please wear suitable footwear and prepare for wet weather. Paths can become muddy after rain.
  • The paths are relatively flat but this walk will go off paths at points so is unsuitable for buggies or manual wheelchairs.
  • Unsuitable for children under 12 years.
  • Please arrive in good time for the start of the event as the walk will start promptly.
  • This event is not suitable for dogs (except assistance dogs).
