Visit us at the Old Coastguard Station in Robin Hood's Bay for Rockpooling on the beach!
Join our staff for a guided rock-pooling session looking at the fascinating creatures that make the rocky foreshore at Robin Hoods Bay their home.
Marvel at amazing anemones, spot hermit crabs carrying their house on their back and find out fascinating facts about sea slugs! This family friendly session will look at how to rockpool safely and responsibly.
What to expect:
- Arrival and registration
- Brief introduction to the activity
- Rockpooling Session on the Beach with National Trust staff
- Round up talk at end of session
For ages 6 years+. £3.50 per child. Limited places, so booking is essential.
Refreshments available at the Old Coastguard Station.
Please note:
- Meet opposite the Old Coastguard Station at The Dock in Robin Hood's Bay.
- Pleas wear wellingtons or similar sturdy waterproof footwear. No sliders or flipflops. Appropriate outdoor clothing for the weather conditions on the day.
- Parking at pay-and-display car parks at the top of the village. No parking in the lower village. The beach is accessed via a steep downhill walk through the village then a cobbled ramp or steps. Uneven surfaces on the beach.
- Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
- The cost of the event is £3.50 per child attending. Well behaved dogs on a lead can attend.
