Bluebells and Spitfire Walk - Lewesdon Hill

Join us for a guided walk around Lewesdon Hill, meet the man behind the memorial for the Lost Pilot and learn about the spitfire crash at this site in 1942.

This is also bluebell season so we are hoping for carpets of bluebells to see and enjoy.

On this 5 km walk you will be guided around Lewesdon Hill by one of our trained volunteer walking leads. The guide will meet you at this what3words location: ///wacky.stem.pleaser

This location is a private field owned by a local farmer who is very kindly letting us use this point as the start for our walk. This farmer will also be talking to us about the story behind the spitfire which crashed at Lewesdon in 1942.

Once we have been to the Spitfire crash site we will walk around Lewesdon Hill accompanied by our National Trust ecology volunteers who will be on hand to talk to you about the plants and wildlife which call this place their home.

The walk is 5km and will take approximately 2 hours. It can be hilly and slippy in places - especially if there has been recent rain.
