Landscapes for Water: Community tree planting (fully booked)

Help us plant trees, restore the landscape and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Our partner programme Landscapes for Water is a landscape scale restoration project that's seeking to make the South Pennines more resilient for climate, nature and people. Historically the South Pennines supported many more trees than it does today and, as part of this environmental project, we are looking to recreate some of these lost wooded areas.

If you fancy getting involved and helping to plant some trees, please sign up to our tree planting morning on 22 March.

Please note:

  • Please meet at Baitings Reservoir Car Park - Rochdale Road, Sowerby Bridge HX6 4LR.
  • Wear warm, all-weather clothing and footwear. Bring spade, gloves and goggles if you have (don’t worry if not, we will have spares on the day), plus snacks, water and hot drinks.
  • There will be a short walk to the planting site along rough and tussocky terrain and the planting will be on rough, tussocky and sloping ground. Please bear this in mind when booking and consider whether you would be comfortable with this.
  • Older children are welcome, at parents' discretion.
