Summer Solstice Foraging with Tellus Mater

Join us on the longest day of the year to forage for wild herbs, fruits, and edible treasures! Discover nature’s bounty and learn ancient foraging skills.

On the longest day of the year, reconnect with nature and the power of the sun by joining expert forager Lizzy, who will take you on a wander to seek hedgerow and woodland edibles.

We will be looking for wild fruits, herbs, mushrooms, and plants that are all around us and teaching you key identification features and preferred habitats to give a good introduction to foraging for your own wild food journey going forwards.

We will stop to enjoy our own packed lunches midway, along with sampling some wild food makes and bakes samples brought along by your Lizzy to show how easy it can be to incorporate your finds into everyday meals and cooking.

We will be covering good foraging practice, preservation techniques and what species to look out for in the coming months.

You may wish to bring a camera, notepaper, and something to drink as we walk and ensure you have sturdy comfortable footwear and weather appropriate clothing for the wander.

£35 per person, children over 12 years old are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note:

  • Park in the main visitor car park, and meet by visitor reception from 09.45am.
  • Please dress for the weather and  the ground conditions. Walking boots are recommended.  You may wish to bring a camera, notepaper, and something to eat and drink.
