Especially created for Ightham Mote's Easter Adventures, this puppet-making workshop is led by award-winning puppet maker and Creative Director of Strangeface Theatre, Russell Dean.

In this two-hour hands-on session, you’ll create your very own rod puppet, bringing a quirky chicken character to life with expert guidance, and leave with a unique feathery friend to take home.

Please note:

  • This event takes place in the Squire's Room in the main house. Please enter via the main entrance and follow signs for the Squire's Room.
  • All materials will be provided.
  • The garden is steep in places with steps and gravel, cobbles and grass pathways - please speak to staff on arrival for the best route for your needs. Disabled parking is available near visitor reception but there is some gravel in areas of the car park. Pushchairs are permitted in all areas of the garden, but please take care. Take care, there are many open water areas around the garden.
  • Suitable for 6+.
  • Please arrive at visitor reception 10 minutes before the workshop start time.
