Guided walk: the Fountains Way

Join us on a guided walk to celebrate the launch of the Fountains Way trail from Ripon city centre to Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal.

Saturday 17th May, 10am-2.30pm. 

A rewarding way to arrive at Fountains Abbey on foot, via rural paths from Ripon and the stately lime avenue through Studley Royal Deer Park. The return stretch of this circular walk takes you through the Seven Bridges Valley and along the Hell Wath Nature Trail.

This event does not follow the accessible version of this route and includes steps and some rough terrain.

8.6 miles. A moderate walk along mostly flat footpaths. A mix of pavements, woodland trails and surfaced paths, with some steps.

Toilet and cafe facilities will be available at the halfway point (Studley Royal).

Parking is available in Ripon city centre car parks (charges apply).

  • Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
