May half term: butterfly discovery walks at Staunton Harold
Bring along your little explorers for a butterfly adventure through Staunton Harold's spectacular wildflower meadows.
Join the rangers on a gentle stroll through the wildflower meadows to see what butterflies you can spot.
Learn how to identify different species with easy-to-follow ID cards and our rangers expertise. Peek through binoculars to get a closer look, and enjoy being surrounded by a sea of blooming wildflowers.
As well as enjoying time in nature and learning something new as a family, you'll also be contributing to our conservation work, as gaining an understanding of the species that live here helps us to continue looking after this thriving habitat for wildlife.
Please be aware, this event requires good weather and may be cancelled if rain is forecast.
Please note:
- Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Follow the bunting along the wildflower walk.
- Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Bring plenty of water.
- There are no steps and stiles along this walk. The walk starts off along a level tarmac path before venturing up a slight slope and along a narrow grass track, which is uneven in places, to get to the wildflower meadows. Rangers will be there to assist on the day and can make adjustments to the route depending upon visitor needs.
- Recommended for children aged 5 and up but suitable for the whole family.
- Dogs are welcome on short leads.
