Yoga under the sun – Helios at Ickworth Estate
Join instructor Amy for a unique yoga class taking place in front of Luke Jerram’s Helios.
Come along to a special Sunday morning yoga session at Ickworth Estate on the 11th May. Amy's class will take place in front of Helios, providing a unique opportunity to find your flow in the beautiful parkland at Ickworth, complete with the rising sun.
Helios is the latest piece of artwork from Luke Jerram. This seven-metre spherical sculpture of the sun combines light, imagery and sounds recorded by NASA to bring the sun's intricate details to a new light.
Whether you're seeking relaxation, rejuvenation, or a moment of quiet, Amy will use her expertise to guide you through this one hour yoga session leaving you feeling refreshed and inspired.
The session will begin promptly from 08:00, and will finish around 09:00. Please arrive promptly to the North Lawn and allow 5-10 minutes to walk to the Lawn from the carpark and get settled before class begins. You will need to bring your own yoga mat or towel to this session.
To protect the artwork, the Helios installation must be taken down when wind gusts reach 23mph. The Yoga session will still go ahead if Helios needs to be taken down, unless in the case of adverse weather. If the yoga session is cancelled in the event of poor weather all tickets will be refunded.
Please note:
- When you arrive, drive past the kiosk and into the main carpark. Then head to the North Lawn in front of the Rotunda where Amy and the events team will meet you.
- Please wear weather and activity appropriate clothing as this yoga session will take place outside. You will need to bring your own yoga mat to the session. There will be no mats provided.
- The North Lawn is accessible via a gravel pathway from the main carpark. Some manual wheelchairs my struggle over the gravel.
- This yoga session is not suitable for children under 18.
- You will be contacted by the events team prior to the class to complete a health form. This needs to be returned before participating in the event.
- Estate admission is included in yoga ticket.
