Indian block printing workshop - Wimpole
Step into a world of creativity, colour, and calm with a hands-on block printing workshop at the beautiful Wimpole Estate.
In this inspiring session, you’ll design and print your very own fabric tote bag, using intricate, hand-carved wooden blocks, a traditional art form from the vibrant region of Rajasthan, India.
The workshop begins with a live demonstration to guide you through the techniques, followed by plenty of time for you to experiment and create your own patterns. Once you're feeling confident, you’ll bring your final design to life on your tote bag or tea towel — a unique piece to take home or gift to someone special.
No experience is needed. These friendly, welcoming sessions are all about slowing down, connecting with your creativity, and finding joy in the process.
Your guide for the day is Claire from Chalo Block Printing, whose love of India was sparked during her first backpacking trip in the 1990s. Her many journeys through India — gathering fabrics, art, and memories — along with her work in wellbeing as a Holistic Massage Therapist, bring a spirit of mindfulness, colour, and history to each workshop.
Please note:
- Standard admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Meet at the Old Rectory
- All materials are provided, just wear comfortable clothing (aprons are available too).
- For ages 16+ only
