Bat Walk - Hatfield Forest

Hatfield Forest is home to ten of Britain's native bat species.  Join us for a guided walk offering a unique opportunity to see and hear some of them with the Hatfield Team.

Start the evening at our lakeside Shell House for a chat with our Ecological Monitoring team. The team will talk about the different bat species we have at the Forest, their different habitats and the methods we use to survey them.

You'll head out on a walk for approximately one hour exploring the habitats and identifying different species along the way.

Please note:

  • Meet outside the Shell House fifteen minutes before the walk.
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather as we will walk in the rain or shine. We suggest bringing layers and water.
  • This walk will take place over uneven terrain. If you have any access considerations, please get in touch with us to discuss them.
  • This walk is aimed at an adult and family audience.
  • This event is free, but booking is essential to secure your space. Please provide your name at the gate to gain entry to the Forest.
  • It is a 10 minute drive from the main gate to the Lake area, so please allow time for this journey in your travel time.
