Shoresearch Survey Workshop
Are you interested in becoming a National Trust volunteer for our Shoresearch surveys at South Milton Sands? Come along to this half day workshop to learn all about The Wildlife Trust's Shoresearch programme and how you can get involved.
In this half day workshop, Coral Smith, from Devon Wildlife Trust, will be training interested volunteers in Shoresearch survey techniques and how to identify and record intertidal species. This workshop will give you the skills needed to sign up as a National Trust Shoresearch volunteer for South Milton Sands.
Shoresearch is The Wildlife Trusts' national citizen science survey of the intertidal shore, the exciting world of extremes where the sea meets the land. It's a great way to explore your local coast, learn more about the wildlife found there and add to our understanding of this important habitat.
Please note:
- Please meet at Wembury Marine Centre, Wembury Beach car park, Church Road, Wembury, PL9 0HP.
- The workshop will mainly be inside the centre but please bring suitable clothes and wellies / walking boots incase we have time to go out on the shore.
- There is accessible parking in the National Trust Wembury Beach car park and there is an accessible toilet in Wembury Marine Centre. This activity may not be suitable for those with a mobility impairment.
- Suitable for ages 16+
- For NT members please scan your card on arrival as usual. For non members please let the parking team know you are here for the workshop and they will allow you to park for free.
