Join local landscape painter Steve Pleydell-Pearce for a day of Art in the Landscape - learn sketching and painting techniques while exploring and taking inspiration from our ongoing nature restoration work around Woolacombe.
Join local landscape painter Steve Pleydell-Pearce for Art in the Landscape - a creative day of sketching and painting inspired by nature and the vital restoration work happening across North Devon.
Guided by Steve, learn sketching & painting techniques, including quick sketching, close-up studies and landscape painting, as well as mixing colour with a reduced palette. You’ll create your own gouache landscape painting (that’s opaque watercolour) inspired by the surrounding meadows and the exciting rewetting and water vole reintroduction projects that the Trust have been doing to improve the land for nature.
All materials are provided, including your own sketchbook to take home. Please dress for the weather and wear clothing suitable for walking and creativity, you might get a little messy!
Booking essential, £25 per ticket.
Please bring a packed lunch with you and plenty to drink, this day also includes a short walk.

- Meeting point - What3Words: homelands.scenes.picnic. From the B3343 in Woolacombe, take Mortehoe Station Rd, then turn left at the Woolacombe Bay Campsite sign onto Sandy Lane. Take the second right.
- Please bring plenty of food/water for the day and clothing/shoes suitable for walking and creativity, you may get a little messy. All materials will be provided.
- The day involves walking over sandy and uneven ground in places.
