Landscapes for Water: Public Information Evening
Learn more about the environmental initiatives happening in your area as part of the Landscapes for Water project.
Meet the Landscapes for Water team and hear about the latest phase of the project at Deanhead Reservoir.
This event is your chance to get involved and learn how the project can benefit your community and the environment.
We will be discussing the following topics...
Woodland Creation - Learn where we plan to plant trees and explore how we’ve considered protected habitats, species, archaeology, and public access in our designs, as well as our planting timeline and methods.
Natural Flood Management (NFM) - Discover how NFM works, where local dams will be installed, and when. We’ll explain how these efforts help reduce flood risk, improve biodiversity, and enhance water quality.
Project Benefits - Understand the broader goals such as increasing biodiversity, capturing carbon, reducing wildfire risk, and improving water quality across the catchment.
Evening Structure:
- Welcome & Landscape for Water video
- Project overview presentation
- Group discussions to identify key questions that will then be presented to an expert panel for response.
- Each table will host a delivery or community engagement lead. Leads will rotate halfway through to ensure everyone can discuss both topics.
Please note:
- Meet at Slaithwaite Civic Hall. 15A New Street, Slaithwaite, Huddersfield HD7 5AB.
- The venue is wheelchair accessible, but there is no hearing loop.
