Printmaking workshop at Pentire
In celebration of National Meadows Day, join us for an immersive and creative day at Pentire headland, nr. Polzeath on the North Cornwall coast.
Led by local artist, Alicia Breakspear, the workshop will take place at the main visitor hub at Pentireglaze. It will also include time spent gaining inspiration outside, enjoying the natural beauty of the headland.
Participants will be invited to explore the art of monoprinting, a technique where each print is one-of-a-kind, using pressed plants picked from a wildflower meadow a few weeks prior.
Alicia will guide you through the process of transferring the intricate patterns and textures of leaves, flowers, and grasses onto paper, allowing you to capture the essence of the meadow in your artwork. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a complete beginner, Alicia’s expert guidance will inspire you to connect with nature and create delicate prints.
All materials will be provided, and participants will leave with their own botanical monoprints as a lasting reminder of this artistic and nature-filled experience, alongside the skills to develop the technique further.
Please note:
- Meet in the courtyard next to the main visitor car park at Pentireglaze. Postcode: PL27 6QY
- These sessions will be partly taking place outdoors, so please bring a coat and sturdy shoes or walking boots.
- There is designated disabled parking, disabled toilets and a Changing Places. It is a level walk from the car park to the indoor space where the main part of the workshop will be taking place. The outdoor part of the workshop is in a coastal meadow and is accessed along tarmacked and naturally surfaced paths. There are slopes and uneven ground.
- Suitable for children 16+ if with an adult also participating in the workshop.
- Please be prepared for part of the day to be held outdoors as well as inside.
