Summer of Play: Teddy bear zip wire
See your favourite cuddly bear flying down a zip wire as part of our jam-packed Summer of Play.
Would your teddy bear enjoy a day out at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal with you? As part of our Summer of Play, we're planning a special event just for them. See your favourite cuddly bear flying down the zip wire and through the trees before safely landing next to the abbey ready to join us for a special teddy bears picnic.
Drop your teddy off with the zip wire instructors just past Swanley Grange before racing down to the abbey ruins and watching them zip through the trees. Our volunteers will be waiting at the bottom of the zip wire to unclip your teddy and return them safely to you and give your bear a certificate for being super brave.
Bring a picnic, borrow a blanket and take a seat on West Green to watch other teddy bears zip through the trees and hear all about their exciting adventures.
This activity is free but you must book your space. There are 11 sessions running on each day and 4 teddy bear spaces available in each session.

Please note:
- Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Drop your teddy bear off with the zip wire instructors just past Swanley Grange. Then head down to West Green ready to watch them zip down to the abbey.
- Bring your teddy bear and a picnic. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
- Access to the teddy bear drop off is along a gentle decline hard standing path. Access to the teddy bear pick up is down a steep 15% gradient path. If you require level access to the grounds please park in the West Gate entrance and head to the abbey green. We can arrange for your teddy bear to get to the top of the zip wire for you.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult.
