Festival of Archaeology: Guided walk - the work of the HART volunteers

Discover more about the work of the HART volunteer team on a guided walk of the area around Corfe Castle.

Heritage Archaeology Ranger Team walks during drop-in day at North Barn. You can join us for a walk across a variety of sites from a ruined mill to a Ring and Bailey Castle and the Hawes and see our volunteers at work and, if you'd like to, have a go yourself.

About 1.5 miles; 1.5 hours. Some rough ground and slopes. 

Walk times: 10:30  and 14:00. Meet at North Barn.

Booking essential.

Please note:

  • Meet at North Barn, in the field opposite the National Trust Welcome Centre car park.
  • Wear clothing and footwear suitable for the outdoors.
  • The ground may be uneven and muddy underfoot. Some slopes.
  • Older children accompanied by parent or guardian may find the walk of interest but primarily aimed at adults. The family drop-in days on 21st & 28th July may be more appropriate.
