Summer Solstice: Camping Permit
MORE TENT PERMITS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM 12PM (MIDDAY) ON SAT 7 JUNE.
This year, if you’re planning to camp at Avebury on the 20 June, you must have a pre-booked tent permit. Camping is for one night only, from 10am on Friday 20 June until 2pm on Saturday 21 June.
Camping at Avebury on the night of Friday 20 June for summer solstice must be pre-booked for free through the National Trust website.
You can choose between a tent permit for up to 2 people or a tent permit for up to 5 people. The person named on the booking form must be present with the booking confirmation email and a form of ID when collecting your permit. Maximum of one permit per person, and permits are not transferable.
Your pre-booked permit can be collected from the entrance to the campsite between 10am to midnight on Friday 20 June.
The temporary campsite is within the grassed area at the back of the National Trust main visitor carpark. Please note that the visitor carpark opens at 9am and can get busy very quickly so we recommend parking early or arranging to be dropped off or use public transport. The carpark will remain open for parking overnight on Friday 20 June. Your tent permit does not guarantee parking.
The campsite will close at 2pm on Saturday 21 June. Please pack up your tent and leave the campsite by this time. You are welcome to stay parked in the carpark and visit Avebury after this point. The normal closing time for the carpark is 6pm.
Avebury is a village as well as a sacred site so please be respectful and considerate while part of this community. National Trust members of staff reserve the right to refuse camping.
