Join us for an illuminating talk on Thomas Chippendale (1718-1779), the world’s most celebrated furniture designer, whose legacy continues to shape British decorative arts. Born in the market town of Otley, Chippendale rose from modest beginnings to become the creator of some of the finest English furniture ever crafted.

Led by an expert and enthusiast from The Chippendale Society, this talk will explore Chippendale’s remarkable life and work - from his ground breaking designs and craftsmanship to his lasting influence on interiors across the globe. While his creations grace collections worldwide, many of his most important works remain close to home, at Nostell, Harewood House, and Temple Newsam.

Set in the historic Riding School at Nostell, this talk offers a unique opportunity to delve into the artistry and ambition of a true Yorkshire genius.
