Mark-making walks with Neil Greenhalgh

Connect with nature and get creative on these varied mark-making walks led by Neil.

Tuesday 22 July: Riverside prints 
Use rocks, ferns, and other found materials to create prints and embossments on this approx. 2.5km walk that follows the river across gently undulating trails.
Meet at the overflow car park near The Knott.

Tuesday 5 August: Woodland marks
Explore tiny worlds while making graphite rubbings with trees and leaves. This is an approx. 2.5km walk with some hilly and rough ground.
Meet by the gated entrance to Knightslow Wood, near the main car park. 

Tuesday 19 August: Drawing water
Draw water, observe shimmering light, and notice slow and subtle movement on this short, mindful walk that will be less than 1km in length.
Meet at the entrance to the Timber Yard next to the Mill Pond. 

Tuesday 2 September: Drawing deep time
Unleash your inner geologist while hunting for rocks and get inspired by your surroundings on this short circular walk up to The Cage and back. This is an approx. 1.5km walk over rough moorland.
Meet at the turning circle in front of the house.

Please note:

  • Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Meeting locations are under each individual date in the event description.
  • Participants should wear sturdy footwear in preparation for some rough terrain. Bring a raincoat and a snack just in case. All art materials will be provided.
  • Accessible parking available. Some of the walks encounter uneven ground and therefore are not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.
