Meandering to the Tower Guided Hike

4.5-mile (7km) guided walk on less-frequented footpaths to Leith Hill Tower via Dukes Warren and Coldharbour Cricket Pitch to discover some of the area’s stunning landscape and fascinating history.

This moderate circular route will take around 3 hours including a 30-minute break. Starting at Starveall Car Park at Leith Hill, an area of outstanding natural beauty, you will see stunning views and your guide will point out key highlights that make this area special.

The route is undulating and involves one short, steep section to Leith Hill Tower towards the end of the walk. This will be rewarded by a relaxing refreshment break to soak up the glorious views towards the South Downs and City of London. Some of the paths are rough and stony with exposed tree roots. There will be approximately 500 feet of ascent. We are on a hill after all! The hike will go ahead in all weathers and some areas could be muddy. Walking poles may be useful.

Please bring water and a snack. Refreshments are also available at the kiosk at Leith Hill Tower. There are no toilet facilities during the walk. Your guide will tailor the pace, breaks (including ‘natural’ comfort breaks) and content based on the needs of the group. This is an interactive experience and we welcome questions and sharing experiences. There will be the option to climb the 76 steps to the top of Leith Hill Tower. (Free entry for NT members.)

If you enjoy being outdoors in nature and are a regular walker this is the perfect way to explore the countryside, meet like-minded people and find out more about the Surrey Hills.

Please note:
