Outdoor Theatre: Importance of Being Earnest performed by Oxford Rep Company
Come and see Oscar Wilde’s well-loved comedy in the Tudor Stables walled garden at Osterley. Have a day at Osterley and then see the performance at 6pm!
Set in the 1930’s, our production follows Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff as their attempts to cast aside social obligations through smoke and mirror land them in a series of mishaps and misunderstandings.
The Oxford Rep Company is an Oxford University Alumni touring Shakespeare company originally formed as Gravedigger Productions in 2025. We are committed to presenting beautiful and timeless theatre in a range of historic spaces across the UK.
Please note:
- Entry to the event is via a door by the cafe trailer in the Tudor courtyard.
- Please bring a chair/blanket/something to sit on. Seating is NOT provided and this is an outdoor event that is open to the elements.
- There is a walk around a garden lake from the car park. If you have any accessibility requirements please contact Osterley Park. There is a cobbled path leading to the grass lawn where the event takes place.
- Show is suitable for children aged 12 and up.
- Only guide dogs are permitted into the performance space.
- The show is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, plus a 15-20min interval.(approximate end time: 8pm)
- Food and drinks prepared in our kitchens are made using a wide range of ingredients. Whilst we do our very best, we can't guarantee that any of our products are totally allergen free.
