Attingham Unearthed | The Dig Tour
Take a guided tour from Attingham Park to an area on the wider estate, where an active archaeological dig will be uncovering history just outside the walls of Wroxeter, one of Britain’s largest Roman cities.
As you watch the team at work, you’ll learn how they’re revealing layers that might go back to the Iron Age and earlier. You’ll also get the chance to hear about the finds so far and what they tell us about the people who once called Attingham home.
Please note:
- Please arrive at Attingham's Visitor Reception 10 minutes before your scheduled tour.
- The tour will be outdoors and over uneven ground. - Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy, supportive shoes.
- Please contact attingham@nationaltrust.org.uk to discuss any access requirements.
- Recommended for Age 5+
- During this tour, you will be taken via minibus to the excavation site on the wider Attingham Estate. The tour lasts 45 minutes to 1 hour and will involve some walking.
