Heritage Open Days: Introduction to the Rangers and Parkland
Hear first-hand about what it takes to keep our estate and parkland looking the way it does, from veteran trees to biomass boilers. This will give you a sense of what takes place further afield on Ickworth Estate.
Join our Ranger Team as they take you on a journey through the parkland and woodlands we care for. Hear what this season holds for the Ranger staff and volunteers at Ickworth and learn about how we care for our parkland and ancient woodlands.
Please note:
- Meet at the Welcome Point, chat to the team and be met by your tour guide.
- This tour is outdoors, please wear weather suitable clothing and shoes. This route will be around a 60 minute walk/ talk with options to break along the way.
- This is a walking tour on gravel and an uneven grass path, a off-road electric mobility scooter are recommended. Scooters available to hire. There are stops along the route. Disabled toilets are available in the main carpark beforehand or in the West Wing basement afterwards.
- These walks are aimed at an adult audience, but people of all ages are welcome.
- Well behaved dogs on short leads are welcome.
