Chemigrams with plant-based photo chemistry with the Sustainable Darkroom
Create art prints from plant matter with artist-led research community The Sustainable Darkroom.
Make home-made photographic developers using plants foraged from Lacock's Botanic Garden. Using these home-made chemistries you'll explore the possibilities of both photographic surface and its materiality. Working alongside photographic developers and camera-less techniques you'll produce prints from a range of shapes, textures and images on the surface of silver gelatine paper.
This is a 2.5 hour workshop, and includes refreshments and entry to Lacock Abbey and Fox Talbot Museum. Sorry, discounts are not possible for National Trust members.
Please note:
- The workshop will be taking place in the Botanic Garden, meet at Visitor Reception for directions.
- The workshop will begin promptly at 10am at the same time as Abbey opening. The car park is a short walk from the entrance so please allow time for your arrival.
- Please dress appropriately for a hands-on workshop using plant materials and light-sensitive emulsions.
- The Botanic Garden is mostly lawn with matting on the pathway. Stair free access at all points.
- Not suitable for small children.
