Sunnycroft Flower Festival

This summer, Sunnycroft hosts its first Flower Festival, with each room in the house featuring a unique floral display inspired by local stories and heritage.

Created by skilled local arrangers, the displays reflect themes from Telford’s industrial roots to Victorian life, royal craftsmanship, and scientific breakthroughs.

As you explore the house, you’ll find flowers used to represent everything from steam trains and Coalport China to brewing hops and the discovery of digitalis by local herbalist William Withering. Other displays highlight Much Wenlock’s Olympic legacy and the tradition of royal embroidery.

The festival also celebrates Sunnycroft’s own history. Once home to Mary Jane Slaney, a keen flower show exhibitor, the event continues her passion for flowers and storytelling.

Please note:

  • There will only be blue badge parking available at Sunnycroft. However, Wellington offers plenty of free car parks that are just a short walk away.
  • Flat footwear is advised. Please no stiletto heels due to the internal historic flooring.
  • Sunnycroft's car park will be allocated to Blue Badge parking only. There is no level access entry into the house. All entrances are via steps. The garden is moderately flat with suitable pathways.
