Branch Out! | Ancient trees drawing workshop
Join artist Jessica Perry to create big wild drawings in an outdoor workshop celebrating Blickling's ancient trees.
Experience an outdoor drawing workshop in direct response to the magnificent trees at Blickling Estate in a guided, one-day project led by artist Jessica Perry.
This workshop will enable you to draw freely and to a large scale, combining energy, enjoyment and experimentation to engage both the confident artist and the beginner.
Using charcoal, graphite, inks and wax crayons to describe and connect with the chestnuts and oaks, this drawing workshop aims to give the group a unique introduction to new ways of enjoying drawing.
Each participant will have a number of drawings completed to take home at the end of the day.
The tutor: Jessica Perry is professional and experienced tutor who shares her practical expertise through directly accessible and gently paced workshops. Her own art is made in response to nature, combining detail, humour and close observation as well as broad experiment.
This course is designed for adults of all abilities.
All materials and equipment will be provided.
This workshop will go ahead outside wherever possible, so please wear weather appropriate clothing.
The event will involve walking to Mount Walk which is a 15 minute hilly route with uneven pathways crossed by tree roots. The alternative indoor location for this workshop is on the first floor with no lift access.
Please note:
- Please arrive at 9.45am and head to the welcome team in the estate barn near the main car park.
- Wear clothing suitable for walking around the Estate. Sturdy footwear and weather appropriate items. We recommend bringing a packed lunch, although the cafes will also be open.
