Join Ranger Kate and our volunteer walk leaders for a walk through the woods, discovering the oldest and youngest trees of Buckland Abbey.

This walk will be an opportunity to enjoy early Autumn across the estate and get off the beaten track. It will mainly follow the red route but will go off route to where our recent tree planting has taken place, giving walkers an opportunity to learn about heritage and the newly planted trees, learning about conservation and biodiversity along the way.

This walk will take place mainly on the red route and go into neighbouring fields, it will cover roughly 5km. The route is majority step free and covers uneven terrain. This walk goes into fields with livestock so is not suitable for dogs.

Please meet Ranger Kate outside the Great Barn to start this walk. 

There is no charge for this event, please check in at Visitor Welcome beforehand.

  • Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Please meet Ranger Kate outside the Great Barn to start this walk.
  • Sensible walking shoes and trousers (to prevent ticks).
  • This walk has a few steps and the terrain can be uneven with narrower paths.
  • This event is suitable for children of all ages when accompanied by an adult.
  • This event is not suitable for dogs.
