‘The Lost Years of Richard Trevithick in Latin America, 1816-1827’ with Joel Griffett
This autumn Trelissick will be hosting a series of talks celebrating Cornish figures and heritage.
‘The Lost Years of Richard Trevithick in Latin America, 1816-1827’ will be presented by Cornish writer Joel Griffett and include a two-course lunch.
For the last three years Cornish author/historian Joel Griffett has been going back and forth to Latin America in search of information about Richard Trevithick's mysterious eleven-year adventure across two continents and five countries.
Joel has followed his trail to these remote places in search of Trevithick's lost mines, as well as undertaking extensive research in the archives of Lima and San Jose. He published his first book last year recounting his adventures in the footsteps of other Cornish miners in Chile and Bolivia and has recently returned from yet another trip across the Atlantic to continue writing his next book, that will redefine the Cornish engineering great as a Latin American adventurer.
Tickets cost £15pp and will include a two-course lunch and tea/coffee. Advanced booking is essential.
