Guided Bat Walks at Woodchester Park

Join a local bat expert on these autumn dusk walks to experience the magic of bat flight in the valley at Woodchester Park

A local bat expert will be on hand on 16th, 20th and 25th September to provide free guided bat walks at Woodchester Park.

Note that the walk on Saturday 20th September is family friendly and designed for our younger audiences! There are two longer walks that will go further into the valley designed for adult audiences.

Bats are incredibly important at Woodchester Park. They support diversity through conservation grazing, and are an important part of the local ecosystem.

We will be providing bat detectors for this walk, but please bring your own head torches - this is mandatory for coming on the walk due to the early darkness at this time of year.

Please note:

  • Meet at Tinkley Gate Cafe.
  • Bring a headtorch and sensible footwear and clothing for evening walking. There will a space to keep bags if you do not wish to bring them on the walks.
  • Saturday 20th September - around the red route - is suitable for visitors with access needs.
