You won’t find a happily-ever-after with these dark tales inspired by Hardwick’s vast 16th century collections.

Join Hardwick’s resident storytellers, Storyfolk, for an after-hours storytelling of myths, legends and history inspired by Hardwick’s collection.   

The length of the performance is 1 hour and will take place on the ground floor in one of the Hardwick Museum rooms. Storyfolk will share the tales of Lucretia, Artemisia, and many more. 

Please note this tour will touch on adult themes of sexual assault, suicide, death and war.

Please note:

  • Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
  • Please meet at Visitor Reception by 3.15pm. A member of the team will take you to the Hall at 3.30pm.
  • Please wrap up warm as Hardwick is an old building and can be cold during the winter months.
  • This event takes place on the ground floor of the hall and is accessible via ramped access and step-free access through the gardens. Seating is provided. An induction loop is available on request, please contact the team before your visit to arrange this via phone call or email.
  • This talk is suitable for over 16s.
