Pass through time on this architectural tour of the exquisite buildings on the Hardwick Estate and be introduced to one of England‘s first ‘Architects’.
This architectural tour will walk you through the fascinating architectural elements at Hardwick. From the structures in the Stableyard, to exploring the differences in the homely Old Hall and the grand splendour of Hardwick Hall, find out everything you need to know about the architecture of the buildings on the Estate.
Delve into the history of Robert Smythson, a master builder who created Prodigy Houses and the beginning of English Renaissance architecture.
The House itself will be closed 10 – 16 November whilst the team set up for Hardwick Wintertide.

- Standard admissions charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Please meet at Visitor Reception.
- This event is outdoors, please dress for the Great British Weather.
- This is an accessible outdoor tour through the Garden and Stableyard along paved pathways. A tramper and wheelchair are available to hire at Visitor Reception (pre booking advised). Hearing loop available, please email Hardwick in advanced to arrange this.
