Meet the creator of The Red Dress Project, Kirstie Macleod, who will share details of the dress’s construction and stories from some of the remarkable embroiderers.

An inspirational talk delivered by Kirstie Macleod, the award winning creator of The Red Dress project on the unique journey of initiating and guiding the garment around the world these past 16 years. 

Kirstie will share details of the dress’s construction, experiences from the greater project, and stories from some of the remarkable embroiderers who added their voices and stitches to the burgundy silk cloth. The Red Dress Project provides an artistic platform for individuals, particularly women, and communities around the world, many of whom are vulnerable and/or live in poverty, to tell their stories through embroidery.

The talk will be in the Heart Space in the Regional Office at Killerton. Please park in Regional Office car park. To get to it, enter the big black gates next to the main car park. Drive up close to them and they will open. Enter the main drive and continue to the top. Over the cattlegrid and right into Regional Office car park. The Regional Office can be found in the far left hand corner of the car park.

If you would like to explore the gardens, house and estate, normal admission fees will apply.

Please note:

  • Please drive in to Regional Office Carpark and enter the regional office. The Heart Space is on the right.
  • This is an indoor event.
  • Regional Office carpark is set on a steep slope. The heart space car be accessed via the level. part of the car park. For wheelchair users, a ramp will be used to access a step into the meeting room. Please let us know if you will be using a wheelchair.
  • Children over 12 are welcome accompanied by an adult.
