'Maps & Memories’: Guided Heritage Walk of Minnowburn
Walk in the footsteps of the Ordnance Survey and explore the heritage of Minnowburn and the surrounding area through historical maps with Professor Keith Lilley of Queen’s University Belfast, and the National Trust team.
Marking 200 years since the Ordnance Survey’s first detailed mapping of Ireland, this guided walk will explore how its history has shaped how we view and understand land, identity and geography across the island of Ireland.

This walk is part of the Maps & Memories project — a two-year community heritage project led by NI Science Festival in partnership with the National Trust, Queen’s University Belfast, Historic Environment Division and Ordnance Survey NI. Thanks to National Lottery players, the project is made possible through funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
