Community tree planting day

Join us on Monday 9 February and Tuesday 10 February for a one-off volunteering session and help us plant trees.

This Winter, Stourhead’s countryside team and communities will be planting trees on the Stourhead Estate.

This will mark some of the first trees planted as part of the Western Forest – a new national forest spanning Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the West of England. You will be supporting local nature restoration at Berkeley Farm.

This is a free event. No prior knowledge or tree planting skills are required.

Date: Monday 9 February and Tuesday 10 February pre-booked sessions.
Timing: 10-11.30am or 1-2.30pm

There will be port-a-loos available and refreshments available.

Please note:

  • Please park at Berkeley Farm: Berkeley Farm (Off the B3092), Kilmington, BA12 6RR
    ///hush.roost.simulations
    Please car-share where possible.
  • Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before the start time for registration.
  • Please dress for the weather. Please bring wellies or sturdy boots. If you don’t own waterproofs, wellington boots, hats or gloves, please let us know in advance.
  • The hardstanding area at Berkeley Farmhouse has uneven surfacing. There are natural trip hazards and uneven ground on the grassy field where the trees will be planted. To get from the car park to the field it is 150-300m walk, which involves crossing a busy road. A portaloo will be provided. Accessible toilets are located at Stourhead’s main car park and visitor reception (5 minute drive away).
  • Suitable for children aged 16+.
