World Book Day
Celebrate World Book Day with story time in Tabitha Twitchit's Bookshop.
Tabitha Twitchit's Bookshop is the perfect place to get cosy and listen to a Beatrix Potter story or two. We're working with Grasmere Gingerbread for the event, so one of their team will be telling tales from our storybook and, rumour has it, they might be bringing some samples for you to try!
We have limited space upstairs, so this event is on a first come, first served basis. To guarantee a space, please book in advance.
We will be running two sessions, one at 15:45 and one at 16:00, so if the first is full you're welcome to look around the bookstore while you wait! Please try to arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of the session.
You will also be able to colour in your own Beatrix Potter style book cover; do it while you wait or take it home.
When booking, please try to only bring one adult per child/group of children. If there is space upstairs, we can try to add additional adults on the day, but we want as many children to experience a story as possible.
Please note:
- Standard admission charges apply to non-members on arrival.
- Meet at Tabitha Twitchit's Bookshop.
- Please wrap up warm if it's a cold day; sometimes the bookstore can get a little chilly but we will do our best to get the rooms warmed beforehand!
- This event is not accessible due to steep stairs, and a step into the building.
- Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
