Wordsworth’s home to Coleridge Cottage| Walks Programme

Walk along the route that Samuel Taylor Coleridge and his friends William and Dorothy Wordsworth enjoyed regularly.

Join our walk leaders on a ramble between Kilve, Alfoxton and Nether Stowey. Take in the vast panoramic view, spot wildlife and connect with nature like Coleridge once did on his walk on the hills with his friends. Along the way, see where the Wordsworth’s lived during their time in the area and discover the path, they took on their way to Coleridge Cottage.  

Dogs on a lead are welcome on this walk. Normal admission applies to attendees wanting to visit Coleridge Cottage, but the tearoom can be used free of charge.

Distance: 6.4 miles 

Duration: 4 hours 

Total ascent: 300 meters (with multiple hills)

Please note:

  • Please meet at Coleridge Cottage at 9:45am to catch the bus in the village at 10.15am
  • Please dress for the weather and wear study footwear suitable for walking. No flip flops or heeled shoes. Please bring water and snacks.
  • Please keep in mind that this in an intermediate level walk which includes uneven terrain and multiple hills. There may be kissing gates along the route.
