Join our friendly moth specialist in the morning after his night of moth surveying. Find out about the different species of moth living here at Rufford Old Hall.

Discover which moth species have been identified, get up close and personal with a range of different pollinators and learn facts about Rufford's fascinating moth residents as you learn about their habits and habitats with our moth specialist. 

A drink of choice and a cookie will be served on arrival. 

Pre-booking is essential and spaces are limited. 

This event takes place before our normal opening hours. If you wish to stay on site and explore the house and grounds, normal admission will apply.

The moth talk will start at 10.00 but our tea-room will be open from 9.30 to collect your refreshments to enjoy before or during the session.

Please note:

  • Enter through the second-hand bookshop.
  • Wear clothing appropriate for the weather. The session will take place in the cobbled courtyard, but may be in a shaded location so you may wish to bring an additional layer.
  • The courtyard is accessible with step free with level access and some slight slopes. Please note the courtyard is cobbled. The courtyard is where the toilets are located.
  • Children of all ages are welcome.
