Watercolour Art Workshop - Painting Outside
Painting Outside with watercolours Tutor Jackie Hurwood.
Painting outdoors is a lovely and inspirational thing to do, but it can feel very daunting. This session will give some tips on how to make it a more manageable experience. General tuition will given in planning a painting, composition, colour mixing, and a short demonstration of painting a landscape in watercolours.
Individual help will be available as required
Suggested Art Materials to bring.
A small sketch-book, and drawing materials as wished
Watercolour Paper:
Several sheets of Bockingford (or similar) watercolour paper at least 140lb. On a block, pad or sheet attached to a board.
Brushes:
Large round soft brush or hake for washes.
Round brush with a point, size 8/10/12
Rigger or small brush with a flexible end
Paints: Windsor & Newton Cotman (Student Watercolour Paints) are a reliable, not too expensive choice, in tubes, which are more flexible for a good result.
A basic Landscape Watercolour kit.
Ultramarine Blue Raw Siena Light Red Lemon Yellow
Cobalt Blue Burnt Siena Permanent Rose
Other colours as you wish
Plastic palette, tray or plate for colour mixing
Water container, Kitchen roll
Please note:
- Please meet at 10 am by main gate.
- This event is outdoors and in the gardens of the property so please dress accordingly. In wet weather the workshop will be held indoors.

- Not suitable for children.
- Please bring a portable chair or stool, (easel if required) sunhat, sunscreen, drinking water.
